Mohal Lalbhai, Founder and CEO at Matter, is leading and reinventing the adoption of electric technologies in India. Mohal founded Matter in January 2019 and the proof of his brilliance lies in the fact that within two years of it's advent, Matter is developing solutions and technology platforms across the entire electric ecosystem.

A serial entrepreneur, he has enduring interest in cutting edge technologies, Mohal began his professional journey in 2014 by setting up a business in the composite materials space. This abiding interest in technology and the focus on innovation then led him to the inception of Matter.

Today, Mohal is responsible for overseeing the direction and organisational strategy of the company, ably assisted by a team of 90 plus engineers who share his vision of building the start-up into a dynamic organisation at the forefront of technological innovation. Matter is strongly focused on the mass adoption of sustainable electric technologies that meet the needs of India – across both consumer and enterprise segments alike.

Arun Pratap Singh a senior Automotive Professional with more than 25 years of experience in Electric Vehicles, Buses, and Battery business, he is the Chief Operating Officer at Matter.

Arun's top priorities are leading the strategy, innovations across business functions, and establishing the business for the future. An exceptional leader, he promotes a culture of full participation in order to obtain the value that the company brings to customers and future partners.

With more than a decade of experience in Electric, he firmly believes that electric is our only choice and at Matter we have the courage, drive, passion and right technological innovations to help us transform our planet and future.

An alumni of IIT Kanpur and IIM Ahmedabad, Arun has held management positions at Epsilon Batteries and Electrotherm to name a few.

For Saran, someone who understands the company in every aspect, design is the driver of change and he believes that tackling design in a truly integrated way that is elevating strategy, delivering unmet user needs, and surging employee impact is the way forward to ensuring Matter delivers sustainable solutions to its customers.

In his previous role, Saran was the Chief Design Officer, where he was responsible for the development and execution of all design and design-driven innovation aspects. Under his leadership the company was awarded CES Best of Innovation award in 2018

With a formal education in Architecture and professional experience in designing spaces, products, and experiences, his work at Matter focuses on the integration of art and technology to break the boundaries between products and services into integrated experiences. He believes that at Matter we are forging new paths to transformation.

Truly driving everything electric at Matter, he is the Chief Hardware Architect. Prasad is obsessed with anything that concerns Automotive Electronics and mobility solutions. For him electric technology will be the way forward and this could hold the key to tackling rapid environmental changes happening around the world.

He firmly believes that at Matter we are rallying towards a common and collective purpose of making a sustainable world.

Prasad has a Masters degree in Power Electronics from IIT Bombay and is a globally recognized Industry leader in Automotive Electronics & eMobility. He has two decades of experience of leading development of electric and hybrid technology platforms for applications ranging from Passenger cars & Commercial vehicles mainly at Eaton & Mahindra. In his leadership roles he was responsible for leading teams in Advanced Energy Storage systems, Hybrid & Electric power trains , Power Electronics & Controls, Body Electronics , Infotainment, Functional safety, Systems Validation, & Electronics reliability Centers of excellence. Prasad was also the first recipient from India to be awarded the prestigious “Young Industry Leader Award in 2012” by SAE foundation in recognition of his contributions to automotive industry.

Gautam believes smart and connected vehicles will fundamentally change both the ownership as well as the day to day experience of using a vehicle.

Prior to joining Matter, Gautam has worked in the electric vehicle mobility space as a Principal Architect and Flipkart as a technology lead. He graduated from IIT Madras with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering in 2011.

With over 24 years of experience in Vehicle Research & Development, Zakir is leading the research & development vehicle engineering at Matter. With deep technology experience, he is recognized for automobile R&D function, design, testing,component design and analysis .

For him, delivering innovation at the right time and right cost are vital. He is focused on aligning Matter's strategies, to build technologies for sustained growth that will go a long way to revolutionizing electric vehicle mobility. Team building and mentorship are an important priority for Zakir.

Prior to joining Matter, Zakir was Deputy General Manager R&D at Mahindra & Mahindra, before that he worked in research and development function at General Electric(GE- Transportation) and TVS Motors.

He holds an automotive engineering degree from BVB college of engineering & Technology, Hubli and went ahead to complete his masters degree in Automotive engine technology from IIT Madras.

Rahul is the driving force behind Marketing and Public Relations at Matter, he is responsible for developing marketing strategies, impactful communication, branding, content creation and promoting the overall reputation of Matter. Rahul gives credence that information leads to more informed choices and that technology is an enabler that will help us co create a better future.

With a background in advertising for over 15 years with IPG Mediabrands and launching brands like Emaar Burj Khalifa, Dubai terminal 3 launch, branding for SpiceJet and Air France. Rahul is passionate about analytics and omnichannel brand communications, he has been awarded amongst the Top 100 most Influential Global Marketing leaders by World Marketing Congress in 2018 and 2019. Rahul holds a Bachelor's Degree In Business Finance & Marketing. A MBA class valedictorian in Communication Strategy (English Honors) with a Summa Cum Laude in Marketing & Finance from Tepper School of Business.

Leading Automotive design at Matter, Sudarshan Rathod integrates diverse set of capabilities fusing customer experience, agile engineering in product design and development. He believes that design is embedded in our DNA to collectively improve the quality of life for people and the planet.

Previously, Sudarshan was the Group Head designer at Honda research & development where he drove the design strategy for the division. Sudarshan has developed more than three vehicle designs for Indian and International market.

He holds a masters degree in Transportation and automobile design from National Institute of Design and a bachelor's degree from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology.

Deval Parikh is the Director at Matter and spearheads the growth and development of the breadth of Matter. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, he overlooks the business strategy and planning across the company.

With more than 20 years of experience, Deval Parikh is a successful business leader and has worked across several industries like technology, telecom, and semiconductor. Deval brings extensive industry knowledge and functional expertise.

Previously, Deval served as the CEO at Brightstar (Softbank subsidiary) India, a $700M+ diversified wireless and telecom distribution and services company, Reliance Jio as the Senior Vice President leading product design and development, Virgin MobileUSA as the VP of Mobile Devices, VP of Planning and Operations, PWC and spent his formative years at VLSI technology.

He holds a Master’s in Engineering Management from Northwestern University, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in the USA. Some of his work has been published in global periodicals, including the Harvard Business Review.

Professor Sahay has more than 28 years of experience across many dimensions of Marketing and human behavior. He is Marketing and Communications Advisor at Matter. Currently, he serves as the Chairperson – Marketing Area at IIM Ahmedabad and at NSE Center for Behavioral Science in Economics, Finance and Marketing and MN Vora Chair Professor.

With multidisciplinary consulting experience nationally and internationally, he has worked in pharmaceuticals, cement, building materials, telecom, broadcast, automotive, FMCG, education and financial services sectors. His primary areas of research and teaching include marketing strategy, pricing, neuroscience and consumer behavior, brand management, high tech marketing, and international trade and investment.

Professor Sahay has authored more than 50 cases and published in leading international journals. He writes regularly for the leading Indian business newspapers and regularly on marketing, gold and behavioral science.
